The range of hermetic filter driers GVN GMH are designed to protect the refrigeration system from liquid and solid contaminants. The filters consist of a molecular sieve (70%) and activated alumina (30%), providing high mechanical strength, exceptional filtration capacity, as well as high moisture absorption and acid removal. The GVN GMH series is suitable for use with refrigerants HCF and HCFC and is recommended for refrigeration, freezing, air conditioning, and mobile cooling systems. This series also features a unique filtration function at both the inlet and outlet. GVN dehydrating filters of the GMH series are approved for operation with a maximum working pressure of 45 bar.
The dehydrating filter is installed to protect the HVAC&R system from circulating solid contaminants, moisture, and acids. It prevents blockages of the expansion device by contaminants, formation of ice at the expansion valve orifice, and acid formation by adsorbing moisture from the refrigerant.
The internal construction of the filter driers includes a filtration medium at the inlet to capture contaminants, followed by a moisture and acid desiccant. For thorough purification, an additional filtration layer is provided at the outlet, ensuring filtration down to 20 microns.
Each GVN filter drier is equipped with a clearly marked arrow indicating the installation direction. It is strongly recommended to replace the dehydrating filter whenever the unit is opened for servicing or after any other component replacement.
